The Wonderful World of Lordwafik

Hello everyone, welcome to my new blog. I used to use Livejournal ( http://lordwafik.livejournal.com) but have imported my entire LJ to this directory! So you can find all the old posts in here, completely backed up!!!

A reason I decided to move my blog to here, is because a) I own the domain / webspace, and b) the amount of control over the things here, this can be my playground of php/css/xyzcucumbers and more things that I don’t know! The only difference would be if for example, the hosting company goes down, everything here will go down with it >_> But let’s just hope that never happens ok? ok.

If you’re worried about interface/commenting and all that, do not be afraid! It’s not hard. If you want to comment, it’s basically the same, and if you’re wondering how to stick avatars on your comments, go to http://en.gravatar.com/ and assign an avatar to your email. From then on, so long as you use your email addy in the email field, your avatar will come up on any blog that uses the gravatar system.

I’ve been in the process of moving my LS to a new hosting company too (the same one I’m currently using, which is 1and1 as opposed to my old one, Netfirms, which sucks), and have changed the LS’s front page into a blog aswell as opposed to the wiki that we were using and was clunky to update.

Edit : I moved my whole LJ over, holy crap! I didn’t know that was possible. It moved everything but the comments, for obvious reasons. On LJ I used imageshack to host everything, so nothing that’s linked technically should dissapear unless imageshack removes it - some images may also break tables, but this should be limited to just the older posts, as they’re hotlinked, new posts will be properly thumbnailed as the images will be hosted on the servers directly. I think the other change is it doesn’t support LJ cuts, so the whole post will be there in it’s giant massive form if I made a long post, BUT! Omg! It’s all here, I’m amazed really :p
